About the role
We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join TechCo's Platform team. You'll design and build the core services that power our product, working across the full stack with TypeScript, React, and Node.js. This is a high-impact role where you'll shape technical direction and mentor mid-level engineers.
TechCo is a fast-growing SaaS company helping businesses automate their operations. With 120 employees across London and Berlin, we've reached profitability and are now investing in the next generation of our platform.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs
- Lead technical planning and architecture decisions for the Platform squad
- Write clean, well-tested code with comprehensive unit and integration tests
- Collaborate with product, design, and data teams to deliver features end-to-end
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code review and pairing
- Participate in on-call rotation (approx. 1 week in 6)
- Contribute to internal tooling, developer experience, and CI/CD pipelines
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong TypeScript / JavaScript and Node.js skills
- Experience with React or a comparable frontend framework
- Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Comfortable with cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP)
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Experience mentoring or leading a small team is a plus
